Teflon coated Socket Fusion heating adapters
(male and female) 110mm
Basically our Teflon coated Socket Fusion heating adapters (male and female) go through a 5-stage process, which includes sandblasting the pure aluminum, then a base coat and followed by 3 layers of teflon to reduce polymer adhesion. without a doubt the quality of our process increases the durability and longevity for a quality product.
What is Teflon coated Socket Fusion adapters?
Heating adapters are a Non-Stick Socket faces, in brief they are a block of heat conducting material that attaches to the heating tool and it is designed to melt the internal surface of the fitting socket and the external surface of the pipe. In effect they are made of 3 layers of teflon over pure aluminum to reduce polymer adhesion.
Non stick coating vs teflon heating faces
Both Non stick and teflon, refers to prevent adhesion to a surface. The heating adapters are coated with teflon as a result we have a non stick material. In conclusion, Non-Stick Socket faces together with heating iron need to work simultaneously to weld plastic pipe. Each Size comes with a male and female face. 3 layers of Non-Stick Coating.
The heating adapters have a coated surface that has been treated to reduce polymer adhesion. If the polymer adheres to the heating plate, lightly wipe with a clean cotton cloth to remove. Do not use a wire brush or an abrasive.
Heating iron recommended temperature in socket fusion
Important to realize to meet pipe manufacturer’s temperature specifications, the surface temperature of the heating adapters should be measured with a surface pyrometer prior to initial use and at reasonable time intervals thereafter otherwise you can have altered results.
Ensure you test the temperature on the surface of the heating adapters and not on the heating plate itself. The heater’s built-in thermometer indicates internal temperature and should only be use for reference.
Procedure/Application of teflon coated heating adapter?
Definition according to the ASTM F2620: The socket fusion technique consists of simultaneously heating both the external surface of the pipe end and the internal surface of the socket fitting to a designated temperature, then fuse them together by application of a sufficient force. Thereby resulting in fusion.
Socket fusion tools consist of a heating tool, heating adapter, cold rings pliers and chamfer/depth gages.
Heating adapters/faces/plugs are the main tool for socket fusion pipe procedure.
